On seeing this panic situations Brahma, Vishnu and other deities prayed to the debadhidev mahadev Shiva to destroy the evil power of Tripurasur. Lord Shiva closed his eyes and meditated for some time. When he opened his lotus shaped eye tears fell from them on the earth. Wherever his tears fell on the ground the Rudraksha tree grew.
